Port Hercule is the natural starting point for a yacht session, with berths facing the Rock on one side and the towers of Monte-Carlo on the other. Light on the water is best in the first two hours of the day and again before sunset, when the hulls pick up warm reflections off La Condamine. During Grand Prix week in late May, the circuit runs along the port and yachts berthed on the quays become grandstands, which makes for extraordinary images if access is planned well ahead. In late September the Monaco Yacht Show fills the harbor, and we shoot owner and charter sessions throughout the week.

Do you use a drone for yacht photography in Monaco?
No. Drone use over Monaco is tightly restricted and we do not fly there. Instead we shoot exteriors from a tender or chase boat at water level, which gives dramatic hull-level images, and from elevated points around Port Hercule and the Rock for wider views. Under Ministerial Order no. 2021-532, any drone over 100 g requires a certificate of authorisation from Monaco's Director of Civil Aviation, aerial filming needs a separate permit applied for at least 15 days ahead through the government teleservice, and flights over the Prince's Palace, the Place du Palais and within 150 metres of the heliport are prohibited outright.
How far in advance should we book a yacht shoot in Monaco?
For a session at berth or a short cruise, one to two weeks is usually enough. For Grand Prix week in late May and the Monaco Yacht Show in late September, we recommend booking one to two months ahead, as those weeks fill first and port logistics take longer to arrange.
